(DDU-DU DDU-DU)

So I thought I would write a blog about my top 20 favourite songs in K-Pop (at the moment). I knew it would be hard to select 20 songs from the many that I listen to, but I managed to pick 32 from my playlist at first. It was a challenge getting rid of some of the songs to make it to 20; I kind of felt bad for the songs and the artists that I had to eliminate (*insert crying emoji here*). However, I had to get rid of some to make the list into 20 songs rather than 32 songs. Anyways, here are the songs that made it to the list (not in any particular order, I couldn't do that...):

1) DDU-DU DDU-DU - BLACKPINK (Also known as D4)

2) Bad Boy - Red Velvet

3) Touch - NCT 127

4) Limitless- NCT 127

5) Summer 127 - NCT 127

6) Save Me - BTS

7) Playing With Fire - BLACKPINK

8) Forever Young - BLACKPINK

9) As If It’s Your Last - BLACKPINK

10) Whistle - BLACKPINK

11) Solo - Jennie (from BLACKPINK)

12) Don’t Leave Me - BTS (Japanese song, I am well aware it's not Korean but it is by a Korean artist.)

13) Gotta Go - Chung Ha

14) Don’t Recall - KARD

15) Wake Me Up - B.A.P

16) Miroh - Stray Kids

17) Kill This Love - BLACKPINK

18) Chronosaurus - Stray Kids

19) Airplane p.2 - BTS

20) The Truth Untold - BTS

(Airplane p.2 - Miroh - Whistle)

Even though I have been mainly interested in girl groups and female artists most of my life (Girls Aloud, Little Mix, Dua Lipa), I do love boy groups and male artists too. Although BLACKPINK are my favourite artist at the moment, BTS and NCT are my favourite boy groups, with Stray Kids just behind them.

All of these songs, as well as the others, are so different to each other, which is why I found it hard to pick 20. they all have their own feel and personality, it's hard to compare them to one another. However, I managed to select a mixture of songs with a few different genres in the top 20. The Truth Untold, Chronosaurus and Don't Leave Me as slow songs but all have different meanings and vibes. The Truth Untold gives me goose bumps every time I hear it, although it is a sad song, I love listening to it. Songs with the best bass in the chorus are Miroh, DDU-DU DDU-DU (especially the beat break at the end of D4). Although the rest of the songs have great bass, songs like Don't Recall and Gotta Go, give off chilled vibes.

When I first hear a song that I like, I look into the artist to see if I like any other songs by them. As well as this allowing me to discover new songs it helps me discover other similar artists (either through their entertainment company or by recommended similar artists). K-Pop is always changing and providing new artists with different style of music; comebacks from current artists normally occur often in most cases. I think this is why its so easy to fall into the hole of K-Pop (also because of how much content they share with their fans, but this can be saved for another blog).

If you want to listen to these songs, and more, they are all in the Spotify playlist linked on the home page. In my next blog I will show you some of my favourite K-Pop music videos.
