I like to imagine people in lists.

Largely inspired by one of my favourite quotes from E. Lockhart's 'We Were Liars'
"He was contemplation and enthusiasm. Ambition and strong coffee"
I began to imagine the people I talked to online in lists, building images in my head.
In my experience I have found I judge people heavily on the music they like, since music is such a big part of my life and inspiration. I find myself looking for pieces of people in the music they recommend me especially if it is particularly atmospheric.
I'm not naive. I know I cannot possibly have imagined these people correctly from the tiny glimpse of them I got, but nevertheless I'm sure these characters will come in handy.

I think of it like a mood board or collage of pictures creating an overall feeling or sense of who the person is. I can see myself finding this very useful for creating characters in the future as I used to almost always start with setting rather than a character.
How do you imagine new people / strangers? How do you create characters?
