2019 was, as expected, not up to 2018's standards. However I still learnt a great deal and I am so much better off for it.
I went to see four of my favourite musicians this past year, The 1975, Watsky, Blackpink and BTS. I enjoyed all of them so much, got to see artists I love a lot and more importantly got to make memories with the people I love. I hope 2020 is filled with many more opportunities to spend time with my friends and family doing things we enjoy.
In 2019 my anxiety was mainly focused on my health, later on in the year shifting to stress surrounding work and the expectations I held for myself. I had my second round of CBT through a different service and with a different therapist. I highly recommend trying CBT if you struggle with anxiety, I have found it incredibly useful and effective. I found that with every round of CBT the more I have learnt about my anxiety and the more tools I have to deal with it in the future. As of right now my health anxiety is pretty much at zero, despite ongoing issues that I will need more procedures for.
I also managed to successfully stick to my goal of making regular blog posts, something I am proud of but can see room for improvement. I started my blog as I enjoy writing about life and the things I am interested in but a lot of the time with these blog posts I just post the first draft. This is something I originally enjoyed as I didn't have to worry about it being perfect, this was the one writing project that I could relax a little bit with. However after a year of writing blog posts I've decided when I have an idea for a blog post that I will write it with a little more care and take the time to do multiple drafts until I am happy with it.
I also wrote a project with one of my best friends in the later half of the year. It caused us months of stress and sleepless nights but ultimately it went very well and I am proud of what we achieved.
I have started 2020 strong, with a positive mindset and a determination to succeed. One of my main goals for this year is to be kinder to myself. Something I think we all could work on for the sake of looking after ourselves, we only have one body and one mind after all.
Here's to a great 2020!
