Why I Stan BLACKPINK

So at first I didn't want to listen to K-Pop, however, once I lived with my housemate (who was obsessed with it), I thought I should finally give in; sit down and actually listen to it. To be honest, I didn't actually have a choice as the music would be played around me, as well as my other housemate accepting defeat. Turns out it wasn't that bad and I am now obsessed with it too. Now I am here a year later writing my first blog about it....

So one of the first songs that got me to K-Pop was DDU-DU DDU-DU, which was released by BLACKPINK last summer. I looked into their other songs, as you do when you find an artist you like, and their other songs were great too. I personally like songs with good bass, which is what the majority of their songs have.

As well as discovering other artists and songs that I liked, I wanted to know more about BLACKPINK. My housemate told me about BLACKPINK house (a tv series about the girls on YouTube), so I decided to watch it on my breaks where I volunteer and in the evenings. By watching this series I got to know more about who BLACKPINK were not just as a group but as individuals. They each have their own personalities and are all so close with each other, as would be expected if you have trained with each other for around 5 years before they debuted. After only watching a few episodes, each of their personalities and who they are as people became clear to me. They seem like such kind hearted people, each with different backgrounds.

So why are BLACKPINK my favourite K-Pop group? They are my favourite because of their personalities, as well as their music and talents. They are just so funny and sometimes remind me of my friends and I. Even though they are more famous, now more than ever, you can see in present videos of them, they haven't changed from the girls they were before they were famous. Even though I have only known them, and K-Pop in general, for only a year now, I am glad to have been introduced to them.
