WARNING! SOME SPOILERS, TRIED TO KEEP IT SPOILER-FREE BUT IM A FAILURE SO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. DON'T COME CRYING TO ME IF YOUR FAVOURITE SHOW IS SPOILED.

Right, so we are going to keep this light-hearted this time cause Jesus I got dark in the last one. So, I am going to give you a small rundown and a bit of a recommendation list of the K-dramas I have watched. I haven't seen a massive amount, so this list will probably increase and change in the future.

Let's start at the very beginning, with the first drama I watched. I started watching this because Kaitlyn kept watching it in the living room and I got fed up with being confused and binged it. So enough with the suspense, I will tell you the name.

#1) Strong Girl Bong-Soon

This is cheesy like C H E E S Y so that is the warning for this show if you want hella angst and realisticness this ain't it chief. But then again are you really looking for realism in a show about a lass with super-strength. The girl is adorable and would probably fit in the palm of my hand and certainly gives off that same smol energy, which is a nice contrast to her character's powers. And it has a beautiful man Park Hyun Sik (I call him ma home boi - it's a running theme of mine to give people nicknames so I will keep you updated, so you know who I am one about at all times) as the main lead who portrays a mildly ditzy, yet clued up CEO (hope that makes sense despite the oxymoron).

Is it the best drama ever? No, but if you are looking for uplifting, strangeness with random puppy noises and mariachi music thrown in for good measure. This is the one for you.

This drama also has a staple K-drama actor who because of this show shall be referred to as Clicky Gum Man. He plays two absolute weirdos in this show and the clicking sound that occurs as he chews that gum is iconic and disgusting at the same time.

#2) I am Not a Robot

So, I chose to watch this because I saw those freaking heart lamps were featured in a BTS Run episode and I wanted to binge another drama. I thought it might hold relevance to that specific episode. It doesn't.

This one is weird, like the main lead who I refer to as lovely boi (it becomes clear if you watch the show although Netflix subs say pretty instead of lovely) has a bit of a thing for a robot. Which if you can look past, makes the story hella cute, if you can't though it's a lil creepy cause buddy she's got no bits...

I liked the stupidity and the weirdness of this concept, and as this was the first one I discovered on my own, it holds a special place in my heart. Personally, I think that the acting develops and gets better with the story and so the best episodes are the final 3 or 4 I would say.

There are more weird sound effects and moments full of cheddar cheese, but despite my cold exterior, I do like some cheesiness. There is more angst, and emotional bits in this than there are (for me) in Bong Soon and plus I want one of those fucking lamps.

#3) While you were sleeping

This drama is referred to in our house as 'nap nap' and is my favourite drama that I have watched so far by a long shot. It is a lot less cheesy and far darker and on the more angsty side. Again, can't have a K-drama without giving the male lead a nickname and so in this, we have the wonderful Beaky, I would give the backstory, but it will hurt someone's feelings, and I want to keep some things a secret for later.

This show has twists and turns, and I loved watching it with my friends; it made the drama and surprise moments all the more captivating. Now as well as Beaky we also have police-y guy who is very pretty, and Kaitlyn loves (Exposed).

One funny moment was during a tense fight scene where both Kaitlyn and Georgia screamed at the top of their lungs, and we had to pause it so we could pull ourselves together, them from shock and me from laughing.

#4) Doctor Stranger

Now I have a confession to make. I didn't finish this series. Now don't get me wrong I loved the acting, the storylines, beaky as always is great but... The character that our main guy (beaky) ends up with is so BORING. I'm sorry like I don't know if it is the writing or the actress not being appropriately prepped or whatever. She just seems flat as a character, and I knew, I KNEW they were gonna end up together and there is another character that I much preferred as she was a more well-rounded person and to see the potential for her character go to waste just annoyed me to the point that I gave up, which really fucking sucks cause I loved the show.

#5) Because this is my first life

This show isn't weird in the same vein as Strong Girl Bong Soon, or I am not a robot. Those shows are funny because the premise is funny. This show, the premise ain't that weird ok? It's similar (Strong ISH here) to the type of stuff you will find in fanfics.

It's the characters, specifically [shit I haven't nicknamed him uhhhhhh] Odd boi, Imma call him Odd boi, are just fucking odd, they make weird decisions, do strange things because of those decisions and have a fucking ODD living situation. And I was obsessed with it. It was like watching an episode of like my strange addiction or some shit where you just become absolutely enthralled by the weirdness of it.

#6) Beauty Inside

I haven't finished this, so it's an ongoing kinda thing, and if I get any spoiler I will rage. This is another weird one as the lass turns into another person for a week every month. (The irony of that timing is not lost on me) And the dude, Odd Boi, who has a secret. He can't recognise faces. It's a weird premise, but I really like it, and the business battles and the drama between characters. The characters are relatively fleshed out, not massively but relatively.

So umm that's it. I made a list and tried not to start fights. Watch nap nap its good.

Uhh bye.
