ATEEZ ( A teenager Z ) is an eight member boy group under KQ Entertainment that debuted in October 2018.

I have known about ATEEZ for a while but have only just started to appreciate their music.
The first I heard of them was when everyone was going crazy over this dance cover, back when they were still going by the name KQ fellaz:
I think my hipster kicked in when everyone was going crazy over it and I wasn't impressed by it. However, since then I really enjoy watching their dance covers and I wish I followed them from the beginning.
Before their current comeback my music playlist consisted of a strong four ATEEZ songs, 'Treasure', 'Pirate King', 'Say My Name', and 'HALA HALA'. My favourite song was 'HALA HALA' - I am still thoroughly impressed by the MV and love the music in the intro. More recently I have become obsessed with 'Treasure'.

As I enjoyed their previous singles so much I highly anticipated their comeback. When TREASURE EP.3 was released however it was not what I expected. Their new singles 'WAVE' and 'ILLUSION' are a lot more poppy then their previous releases.
Out of the two I much prefer 'WAVE' - it has a catchy chorus I find myself singing often. As for the music video, I enjoy the sharp change in aesthetic when compared to how dark and grungy HALA HALA was.
When I first heard 'ILLUSION' I was immediately resistant to liking it for some reason - I think it seemed too bubblegummy for what I was expecting however listening to it again I can hear some key elements that ATEEZ have used before such as, autotune and trap beats. I can see the song growing on me.

I can see this as ATEEZ proving that they can be successful in multiple sub genres rather than a total change in gears. I hope they release more Hiphop-esque songs in the future.
